Anyone who has used needle-punched nonwoven fabric for insulation knows that nonwoven greenhouse insulation blankets made from this material have a long service life, generally around 10 years for vegetable greenhouses. This is 3-5 years longer than other greenhouse insulation materials. So what are the reasons for the long-term use of nonwoven greenhouse insulation materials? Let me briefly explain.

Needle-punched nonwoven fabric is familiar to greenhouse growers. It's used as soon as the weather turns cold. Compared to traditional insulation materials, this insulation blanket has advantages such as a low heat transfer coefficient, good insulation performance, moderate weight, easy rolling, good wind resistance, good water resistance, and a service life of up to 10 years.
One: The insulation layer consists of three layers. The first layer is a waterproof outer layer, the inner layer is the tension of nonwoven felt, and the innermost layer is the core of the insulation. The insulation cover is made of waterproof nonwoven fabric. The low ventilation volume also reduces heat loss to a certain extent, contributing to the insulation effect of the insulation blanket.
Two: The insulating core is the main insulation layer. The insulation effect of an insulating blanket primarily depends on the thickness of its innermost core. The insulating core is evenly laid in the innermost layer of the insulating blanket. This cotton core has poor thermal conductivity, thus reducing the outward transfer of internal temperature and increasing the insulation time.
Three: The most important factor inside the insulation is the thickness of the core; the thicker the core, the better the insulation effect. When using insulation materials in greenhouses, thick insulation blankets are usually chosen. The thickness of the greenhouse insulation core is typically 1-1.5 cm, while the insulation layer thickness used in engineering projects is 0.5-0.8 cm. Different thicknesses of insulation materials are selected according to different applications.
Four: Non-woven fabric, as the main material for greenhouse insulation blankets, has characteristics such as high tensile strength, water resistance, weather resistance, and corrosion resistance. The lifespan of non-woven fabric greenhouse insulation blankets is longer than that of non-woven fabric greenhouses, with a lifespan of 3-5 years.
